Pharmacy Technician
This program will prepare you to work alongside a registered Pharmacist and assist in preparing and dispensing prescribed medication along with other healthcare products to patients. Pharmacy technicians will learn how to recognize individual drugs (brand name and generic), their proper usage, and major side effects associated with these drugs. They will also learn how to prepare proper drug dosages and become familiar with common abbreviations used to transcribe prescription and non-prescription medication. Upon successful completion of the course this facility will assist graduates in registering for the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy so that students may be eligible to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCB).
