Certified Medication Aide (CMA)
The Med Tech/CMA program is a Georgia State Approved Certified Medication Aide Training for Assisted Living Communities. Candidates must have an active GA CNA certification in good standing and be listed on the state registry to advance to this course. Upon successful completion of the CNA exam, candidates are allowed to take the CMA course. Medication Aides are trained to administer medications by mouth , ear, eye, rectal, nasal, topical and injectable drugs. Upon completing the course, a medication administration skills checklist is uploaded and submitted online for the student. The student is then eligible to take the online only medication aide certification exam. In order to pass the candidate must score 82% or higher. Candidates have three chances within 90 days to pass. CMAs are current in high demand at Assisted Living and Personal Care Facilities to administer PO, Topical, and injectable medications.
