Sterile Compounding Technician

In the Sterile Compounding and Aseptic Technique Course you will learn how to aseptically perform in a horizontal laminar airflow hood admixing large and small volume IV bags, prepare injections, completing IV calculations, interpret parenteral drug orders, learn to prepare techniques of hyper-alimentation and hazardous drug compounding.

After completing the Sterile Compounding and Aseptic Technique Course you will receive a national recognized certification through Cumberland Medical Institute. After one year of being employed as Sterile Compounding Tech you are eligible to sit PTCB national certification exam.

The class is 4 weeks long, including lectures, training videos, handouts, validation forms, log sheets, USP <797> procedures, and validation procedures in a 100 specs cleanroom.

Sterile Compounding Techs can seek work in Hospitals, long-term-care satellites, sterile compounding pharmacies, home infusion pharmacies, compounding sterile preparation labs, and training facilities.

The evening class is a 4 week long program

Entry Requirements:

–          GA Registered Pharm Tech (or eligible) 

–          Math Level 12th Grade

–          High school diploma/GED

–         Able to complete 16 hours of lecture and 20 hours of lab.
